Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour – Korea’s Most Fortified Border (Round Trip 6 hours)
After early breakfast, embark on a profound journey to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the 250-kilometer-long, 4-kilometer-wide buffer zone separating North and South Korea since the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement. This heavily guarded border offers unique insights into Cold War history and Korea’s division.
DMZ Tour Highlights:
Imjingak Peace Park: Visit the Freedom Bridge where 13,000 prisoners of war returned home after the Korean War. See the Bridge of No Return and various war memorials symbolizing hopes for reunification.
3rd Infiltration Tunnel: Descend 73 meters underground to walk through one of four discovered tunnels dug by North Korea beneath the DMZ for potential military invasion. Discovered in 1978, this 1.6-kilometer tunnel carved through granite rock could have allowed 30,000 armed soldiers per hour to pass through toward Seoul, located just 44 kilometers away. Experience the narrow, low-ceiling passage and learn about the intense Cold War tensions.

Return to Seoul in the afternoon. Visit the iconic N Seoul Tower (Namsan Tower) perched 236 meters high on Namsan Mountain. Take the scenic cable car ride up the mountain and enjoy breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views of Seoul’s sprawling metropolis from the observation deck. Andong Hahoe Folk Village Exploration:
Traditional Architecture: Explore 127 tile-roofed (yangban aristocrat) and thatched-roof (commoner) houses showcasing authentic Joseon Dynasty residential architecture. The village name “Hahoe” means “river that curves back on itself,” perfectly describing its unique location within a horseshoe bend of the Nakdong River.
